Call for BCAA Board Nominations

Here’s your opportunity to participate in the nomination and election of officers for the Barat College Alumni Association. The BCAA Board term is from 2007-2009.  For your convenience, click here to print a Nominating Form which should be completed and returned no later than March 1, 2007.

BCAA Mission Statment

The Barat College Alumni Association seeks to:

• Renew and perpetuate the friendships formed during the college years;
• Facilitate alumni involvement in programs and initiatives that perpetuate the Heritage & Legacy of our alma mater;
• Enhance recognition of the Barat Education Foundation among the alumni and the community at large;
• Provide financial and volunteer support to the Barat Education Foundation, as Barat’s principal advocate and custodian of the Barat Scholars Endowment;
• Promote the core values and philosophy that characterize a Sacred Heart education including: an active spirituality, a deep respect for intellectual values, a social awareness which impels to action, the building of community as a value, and a personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom.

Members of the Barat College Alumni Association Board serve a two-year term, and they may be re-nominated for the same position for up to two terms. Number of Members: the Alumni Board shall consist of a minimum of 10 members and not more than 25 members to include the officers and directors of the Association. Meetings: in addition to an Annual Meeting, the Board shall meet at least four times a year at the call of the Board Chair(s) or at the request of any four directors. The Annual Meeting of the Board will take place in the spring of each year and will be set to coincide with the Alumni Association Annual Meeting/Event.

As Barat alumni and members of the Association, your nominations of fellow alums who can offer their skills, experience and dedication to lead the BCAA Board into the future is very important.  The nominating committee will submit its slate of officers at the Annual BCAA Meeting to be held sometime in the June of 2007.

Details of this important alumni event will be posted on the website - www.thebaratfoundation.org/bef_news.php. In the meantime, cast your support to nominating the very best fellow alums to a position on the BCAA board.
